Hi. I'm new to Maya and the world of rigging characters so I apologize if I'm missing some basic info.
I have 10s of .bvh files, each describing a different motion. I also have a couple of avatars. I want to rig my .bvh files to my avatars (one bvh file to one avatar, but each avatar will show up more than once in my render with different motions).
I know how to use HumanIK to rig one .bvh file to one .fbx file of an avatar. However, that is a pretty tedious process where I have to match the joints between my bvh and the fbx.
Is there a way to automatically (or semi-automatically) rig a bvh to an avatar, and do this for many different bvh files and fbx files?
Thanks very much for any help or advice. I can provide more info if needed.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, I convert my .bvh files to an .fbx since it seems that Maya cannot load .bvh files. Regardless, this didn't cause me any problems and I was still able to manually transfer the motion described in the bvh to a different fbx file.
