I've created a keyable rig for this Mercedes G-Klasse and now I'm trying to add dynamic Rigid Body suspension to the wheels. I have tried for days now, to use the Spring Constraint from the Soft/Rigid Bodies menu and it's just going mental, I can't seem to get even close to what I want to do.
The closest I have gotten is by setting the ground plane polygonal geometry as a Passive Rigid Body and the polygonal tyre geometry as an Active Rigid Body. I then apply a Spring Constraint to the A.R.B. wheel and move the two simultaneously along the ground plane. Sometimes it reacts well and then shoots off to one side, and then other times it just seems to spin slowly in a 360 degree circle...
Should I be looking more at expressions/scripting? Or am I just missing something crucial here? Even just directing me to a tutorial you know of would be fantastic! I feel like I have been doing this forever and it's incredibly frustrating. I know there are plenty of examples of people doing it themselves, but for all my efforts I have been unable to find a tutorial.
