controllers stop working properbly after keying

hello everyone

im very new to maya and rigging. I tried to create my own rig for a horse and when it finally worked fine I started with the first pose of my runcycle.

All controllers worked the way they were supposed to but as soon as i keyed them the tail and upper head controllers seemed to have lost their parent connection and when i rotate the tail controllers the have no influence on the rig anymore... i think the other controllers are still working.

the tail is a spline ik but the head controllers are normal point constaints, so i have no idea whats the reason for this.

im sorry if this is a beginnersmistake or was already solved somewhere but i searched for it and didnt find an entry that matches my situation.

Hi!

Try switching Evaluation Mode ("Parallel" vs "DG") in Preferences.

For further help please upload a scene-file.

Hi, I wasn't able to open the .mb file. Are you able to save as Maya Ascii instead (.ma)?

Hi!

Attributes can only have one Input (manual controlled by keys or automatically by expressions/constraints).

As soon as you create a key a pairBlend node will be created to combine the values set by keys and those from constraints. This pairBlend has a Weight value which is controlled by the keyed node and blends between different Inputs.

Example:

1. Rotate tail_ctrl_2, then

2. tail_ctrl_3, Attribute "Blend Nurbs Circle 5parent 1" set to "1".

3. Rotate tail_ctrl_2 again
