Constraints Breaking Joint Rotation

Constraints Breaking Joint Rotation

Hello!

I'm trying to rig my character and everything was going great until my constrains on my skeletons spine stopped working. All the Constraints on other parts of my model are working but this one is not. I can see that the joints are

rotating when I rotate the controls but they are not effecting each other even though that are parented in a hierarchy. Joints rotate but Spine Doesn't when there's another constraint after it.

The spine rotates when there are no constraints after it.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

You're not by chance using a parent constraint are you?  A parent constraint will hold both the position and the orientation of the joints in place.  If you must use parent constraints, I would recommend parenting your control curves in such a way as to allow your spine to behave naturally.  The pelvis is usually the root of a spine.  And then the lumbar, thoracic and base of the neck in that order.

Thank You! I was using parent Constraints and so the visible rotation wasn't working for me so I parented the joints to curves like you said. I found that the real issue was in my hierarchy with the controls was off. If you don't place them in the right order in the outline it will break the rig. Thank you for the help!
