Can I rebind a mesh to a similar armature and keep the custom weight paint?

I have two rigs, rig A and rig B. I have some clothing meshes bound to rig A. But I need to bind them to rig B instead.

Rig A and B have an almost identical structure, the joints that have the influence of the clothes are the same, most of the changes are on the hair/face of the model, where the clothes don't reach. 

I tried to unbind with the "keep history" option on and then rebind to rig B using "Normalize weights:post", as I saw in a video that it could help, but it didn't quite work, it resets all of the custom weight painting to default, I'd like to keep the custom weight painting I had on rig A when I bind the clothes to rig B.

 

Any and all help is pretty much appreciated!
