Camera following a path + turn

Hello guys! I am totally a noob with maya but I want to try to do something.. So I have a question.

I exported minecraft world to maya, made a path with a camera attached that goes over the bridge, down the hill, then follows the road. But I want to do so that after my camera flies over the bridge, while it goes down the hill It would look at a minecraft character but would still continue to follow a path and after some time my camera would turn back to a path. I tried using keyframes but either I have no idea how to use them or this is not the way it should be done because as soon as I add keyframe, my camera stops following a path and.. yeah.. Any help pls?

Here's what I would do. Create a camera with aim. This will give you a group with the camera and it's aim. Attach the group to the motion path and then animate the aim to follow your character. I recommend to use constraints if you want to have a consistent follow on the character, but perhaps create a group above the aim that you constrain. This will allow you to animate the aim and have more artistic control ontop of the automatic motion.

I did a little video going through this as well.

Great! Remember that if you need more control over the camera you could try to use the camera that has aim up also. Good luck!
