Solved: Blendshapes running really slowly

I have a class full of students using blendshapes. Some of them work perfectly others run correctly but extremely slowly, making lip syncing really difficult. The students did delete history prior to creating the blendshapes. Does anyone have a suggestions as to why some are so slow? And a way to correct the issue? We are running MAYA 2017 on El Capitan, all the computers are identical.

This sounds like they might be using a different Evaluation mode.. Please make sure they are all using Parallel Evaluation mode, also make sure that the models are not smoothed, as that will cause a huge playback lag.. This is getting optimized for our next version, yet for now just let the students know that it is best to do the animation playback in lower res and not smoothed.
