Hullo All,

I was wondering/hoping if somebody in the know could post exact steps on how to transfer/replicate blendshape functionality from Character A to Character B.

In my case, the two rigs have the same face but the clothes may differ and so on.

Exact steps such as "navigate to the shape editor, then click button X" could help me great deal more than just the crux of the procedure but as always happy as pig to get any help on this baby.

With that, I bid you great end to 2020 and better next year.

Cheers,

Rob

Hullo again,

So I ve managed to figure out that I can export and import .shp files from the shape editor.

The transfer of the first presumed blendshape deformer goes well but the second one does not work, if I move any of the sliders such as open mouth, the face gets pulled apart.

Wondering if there is some difference in some vertex count or similar.

Cheers,

Rob

I learned something new.  I never use the shape editor so wasn't aware that Maya has a .shp exporter.  Thank you.

You say the faces are all the same.  Can I assume they are not all in the same place and orientation?  Is your blendShape in "local" or "world"?
