Bind skin to joint BUG

This may be a bug, repro:

 

- Make object that isn't inside a joint

- Bind it to the joint

 

My result: the object becomes part of the skincluster, but doesn't have the ability to receive skin weights, and effectively doesn't move with the joint

Solved it myself! I used the "geodesic voxel" bind method, which doesn't take into account meshes that doesn't directly touch the joint. Switching to "closest distance" solved my problem.
