Alembic Cache file from MASH Network in trax editor

Hello,

I working on a Motion graphics Projekt with MASH and Maya 2017 up2.

The Caching as Alembic Cache file(s) was successful. Now I will load it on Trax Editor but it looks like he doesn't Support Alembic Cache only Geometry Cache (mcc /mcx). Now I try the Already Cached Alembic file to cache as  Geometry Cache (mcc /mcx), but get an only Syntax error. And if I try to cache the Mash Network (select the Mesh) to Geometry same error.

Me Question is can I use the Trax Editor for the MASH Network created Stuff?

Hi @Pi-errs,

as you mentioned the Trax Editor is not working with Alembic Cache.

But it should work with Geometry Cache.

You can export MASH to Geometry cache by simply selecting a Repro mesh and going Cache > Geometry Cache > Export Cache.

If the network is an Instancer network it will need switching to Repro via MASH > Utilities > Switch MASH Geometry Type for Geometry Caching to work.

Best, Nadja

Also when exporting

geometry export > export cache

make sure you start on a frame that has particles/objects birthed else it will error that no points are present.
