Advanced Skeleton Error when going into fit mode/when rebuilding advanced skeleton

I have found an issue when attempting to update a rig in advanced skeleton that is kind of odd. I created this rig for a proxy model back in April, and just recently got an updated model that is retopologized and ready for facial rigging, but when I installed the new version of Advanced Skeleton, I can toggle fit/adv just fine, but actually toggling fit mode, or rebuilding the skeleton give me an error that says "line 5391: Not enough objects or values." I have tried going back to Advanced Skeleton 5, and still get the same error, and it ends up unparenting the hip and knee joint from the hierarchy, and it also unparents another group called otherChildrenPlaceHolder, which I have no clue what that group is for, but I am guessing is important. I haven't touched the rig since April, but all I really did last time I touched it was do the skin weighting for the proxy, and the proxy rig still works, so not sure what is going on here.
