I get a blank graph editor, usually after about 10 mins of animating. The only fix I have found is to restart Maya. Very infuriating.
Hi!
Try Clamp Texture Resolution in Viewport 2.0 to preserve more RAM for other things like Graph Editor, not sure if this helps.
You also could change back to "Classic" Graph Editor UI in Preferences -> Settings -> Animation -> Graph Editor.
Hmmm. I have an 8 gb graphics card and the scene isn't very heavy, so it seems unlikely that gpu memory is the problem (and if it is, then that needs changing!)
Ha... I just remembered that I wasn't using viewport 2 as it was way slower than legacy for some reason... so there is no texture res clamp there. I have reported the problem but I don't know how to re-produce it.
Hi @johnkeates2865,
so do I understand it right that you are using legacy viewport?
Can you try to reset your user preferences? You can find an article how to do that here: Reset Maya to Default

I reset my preferences all the time because of all the issues in Maya, and the graph editor often goes blank anyway.
Hi @johnkeates2865,
ok. Can you tell me the specifications of your computer?
Best, Nadja
I have a quadro M4000 as my main GPU. Also Titan and Titan X
CPU = I7 5960x
Windows 10
The machine is a beast! There should be no problem displaying a graph editor. Maya has had problems like this for years, usually with the outliner going blank. The solution is to re-start maya, but that is obviously not acceptable really.
