Hello

I watched this Youtube tutorial : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUmWFgwhUII&list=LL&index=5&t=1s

This guy explained how to attach the object to wire,  and it did work fine but when I tried to attach to my rigged object which is a Chinese dragon to a curve. Arms and legs did work because they are parented by controllers ( rotates). So around arms and legs are straight to Z but the body with IK spline follow on the curve.

I want to know how to attach controllers or how to use attach to motion path with a rigged object. I think both way works fine with my Chinese dragon rig.

Thanks

Hi!

To attach a rigged character to a motion path, you need a spine that has controllers which have unlocked rotates and translates. For example an IK Spline spine or a ribbon spine. create the curve you want your object to follow. For each of your Spine ik controls do the following:
1) select the curve
2) Shift select the control
3) Use Constraint > Motion Paths > Attach To Motion Path (You need to be in the Animation or Rigging Toolset to see the constraint menu on the top of your workplace)

This will attach all your objects to the curve and give them an animation over the duration of the current timeslider. Then simply offset the animation curves in the grapheditor so the controls move in the right distance to each other.

I hope it helps!
