Hello,
So I'm a new Maya user and I'm taking a 3D animation course, and I've got a question regarding the rigging and animation for my characters that I'm working on for my final project.
Right now I have a high-res model of two characters, and I spent the last 3 or so hours learning how to start character rigging with the Autodesk Rigging tutorials on youtube, hoping to make it as a proxy for animation, and I began to wonder how I'd get the rigging from the youtube course to my finished character mesh. They're both in separate Maya files, so that's why I began to wonder how to do this. I bought the character models completed, so setting up the rigging itself isn't my concern, but in my character mesh I've got clothes set up, and in the character rigging file I had to go with just the finished character mesh to start rigging. The project is due by the end of next month, and I'm starting to wonder if maybe I shouldn't save the character rigging from youtube for personal time and go for a simple rig on my completed character meshes, or if I can finish the character rigging course and make a proxy animation then move that animation to my character mesh?
I realize that might not be very clear, and I apologize if it isn't. I've tried to find somewhere that mentions how to move a proxy animation to a high-res model, but nothing seems to show up that fits my needs. (And maybe on the side, figuring out why my email shows up as a username on this site)
