Stop joint from bending along with IK

Hello!

So I am rigging a model and running into some trouble with the leg. I have a helper joint on the leg (between the knee and the hip). I created an IK Handle that goes from the hip to the ankle, and whenever I move it my helper joint moves too. How can I stop this from happening? I uploaded a screenshot so you can see what's happening.

Any solutions are highly appreciated! Thank you!

Typically you'd want to pull the twist joint out of the ik hierarchy. You could either parent the knee joint to the hip instead, or you could clone the entire chain to be constrained back in to the ik chain, and then remove the twist joint from the original chain.

Ideally you'd have an ik solver that knew to only distribute twist to the extra joint. If that existed, you would not need to modify your skeleton at all. That doesn't exist in Maya yet.
