Model is not following skeleton?

Hi there,

 

have a character here that I animated some time ago (ignore his missing textures). I wanted to modify his animations a bit. However, right now, Any time I move through the timeline, his entire body just misaligns with the rest of his skeleton in random ways. The skeleton still moves accordingly. The only way to make his body go back to normal is to go to the Layer editor and turn ANYTHING off and on and it will snap back into place. However, if the timeline moves again, the same problem will happen. This makes it pretty impossible to do animation properly. Any ideas as to why this is happening and how to fix it?

 

I'm on Maya 2022.2. I'm on Mac if that helps.

Will only snap back if I turn a layer on and off. Will misalign again once animation starts or is scrubbed.

It snaps back when I set the geometry layer on and off, but it will misalign immediately when I proceed through the animation again in any amount..It snaps back when I set the geometry layer on and off, but it will misalign immediately when I proceed through the animation again in any amount..

Go to Settings/preferences/ Animation category and change evaluation mode from "Parallel" to "DG".
Check if you still have the problem...
