Hello,
In one of the Maya 2017 docs, it says "Note: You can create a maximum of two animation layers on top of the BaseAnimation.". Does this also apply to Maya 2018? (We are currently on Windows 10, Maya 2018 Update 2.0)
My use case is a project in Maya 2018 where the possibility exists that we want to have multiple (5,6 or more) animation layers in the same Maya file, all on referenced character rigs (we don't currently use any character sets). In the past, we've had problems of animation layers corrupting certain files, where Maya crashes when opening the files, however, this was in Maya 2015 and we were not aware of such limitations to the animation layer system. We haven't had these issues in Maya 2018 but it could be related since we had more than 2 animation layers in our Maya 2015 files.
Because of this, a maximum 2 animation layers on top of BaseAnimation would be a considerable limitation to our workflow. Would it be possible to get some more information about this limitation and/or possible workarounds?
