Make a referenced Item part of a file

Ok so my teacher gave us a rig so we can animate it, he said that when he is checking our files he has to reference his own rig from his own computer, so he asked us to do something I don't remember too well so that the referenced item is like a copy of the rig but inside the same file, so he doesn't have to reference each rig again.

Any ideas how to do this? I really cant remember how he did it

In your reference editor, there’s an option under File called “import objects from reference.” That will bake your reference into the file.
