Hi there

 

I am a bit frustrated because I simply dont get behind how to do the following.

I already asked a simmilar topic here but the aproach was wrong.

 

Imagine this setup:

The little green arm shall be rotated to the right. The most upper hole of it shall be connected to the big red angle upper hole. The big red angle

is fixed in the lower hole so that it can rotate. Now I want to animate the green arm to rotate to the right side and the big red angle should rotate like in the real world, as if it would have been connected with a rod to the green arm. I dont want to use expressions like redAngle.rotationZ=greenArm.rotationZ, I need real physics calculation so that the red angle is fixed like a hinge and gets rotated by the pull force of the rod between the arms.

How can I do that, if possible at all?

My suggestion is to turn the hinges into rigid ncloth, then model a rope that's through the hinge holes, make the rope dyanimc(also using ncloth) and then finally keyframe/animate the rope tips.

Thank you, I gave up with maya for this task and doing some Inventor tutorials since its mechanical abilities fit more my needs.
