Hey guys, I'm having an issue with a simple rig I created in maya 2018. I set up a Pole Vector controller to control the knees on my character's leg joints. The Pole Vector controls the knee joint direction fine. I have a root controller for the entire rig that all the controllers on my rig a parented to in my heirarchy. My knee pole vector controller is parented to my foot controller and my foot controller is parented to the root controller. When I rotate the root controller the Knee Pole vector, even though it follows the root controller fine, it affects the knees rotation. So if I wanted to rotate the character to face a different direction, the knees would not move along with the root controller.
I'm not sure how to ask this, but how do I get the Pole Vector to only affect the Knee direction when I use the Pole Vector Controller directly and for the knee direction to not be affected by the Pole Vector Controller when I rotate the Root Controller?
Here is a gif to help see what I am saying.
