Keyframes not visible in timeline

Hello all,

One of my students is experiencing a problem in maya on his classroom desktop. Keyframes are not visible in his timeline, at all. Obviously he has the control selected, with keyframes on it. I checked the keyframe visibility and it is set to both "active" and "active and selected". I have reset the preferences folder as well but it continues to not show keyframes for any objects whatsoever.

These kids find problems for themselves that I would never imagine.

Answering for future reference.

Same thing happened to one of my students. They had put their controls in a display layer and set to "T." In templated mode they could still select the control nurbs curves but their keys would not show up in timeline.

Just set the box back to blank.

Hi hopes this helps 🙂

I was having the same problem as you and by luck accidentally found a solution to make the missing key frames show on the time slider just press Ctrl+Shift+A and just deselect what you don't need to key.

Go to Window -> Settings/Preferences -> Preferences, in the Setting/timeslider section is an option “Key Ticks” which, if set to “none”, will disallow showing the ticks on the timeslider. However, that did not affect the Graph Editor here, everything still shows.

Also, tho "none" was not checked, I needed to check "active" for the key frames to come back.

So after trying the options above (unfortunately didn't work for me).... (with menu tab set to animation) I then went to Display > Show > Animation > Animation Markers (boom) and now there back!

I also discovered that some keyframes were not visible due to screen resolution.

I had this problem and after solving it, I realized that I had keys overlapping. To fix this problem copied the values, deleted the key, and inserted one with the same values.
