Key Ticks / Frames - how to see them?

Hi there. Maybe I am too stubborn or just used to After Effects or maybe industry leading software like Maya needs a total rework from the ground up (like many other software), because it's old and stuck in the past...BUT, we are not getting along with this girl very well. I'm not going to break with her, cuz she costs too much, but D*MN is she getting on my nerves. Enough with my stupid sense of humor (or the lack of it), I wanna ask something about those key fr...ticks I mean. I watched a few hours of videos on youtube and could not answer my questions so I HAD to bother the people here, one thing I hate doing. Not that I don't like to post comments on forums, I just don't like asking for help...especially for something so basic as this, but oh well. So my first questions is...after you put a KF (key frame) with S on the timeline and then put the second one...you may want to deselect the object and see the animation, well...where those KFs go after that? They disappear (those 1 pixel wide little things) and I can't find them again to modify them. In After Effects, the keyframe is a little diamond shaped thing that you can CLICK, select and drag around. Here...it's a 1 pixel wide line that I can NOT click on, can not see where did it go...and if it ever somehow appears...it's too small...and to select it I need to hold SHIFT and drag a selection around it for it to be highlighted in yellow. Ya know what this is like? It's like...having a FILE in windows / macOS and you want to click on it to move it around right? Well...you can't click on it. You have to make a SELECTION around it...and then you can move it. In some video I saw the graph editor where I can see and modify my key frames. So I opened it...and it was empty. When I pressed play, the animation was still happening...but there was nothing to be seen on this graph and no matter where I click and what I select...I couldn't see those THICK easy to click on 1 pixel wide red lines so I can modify them. Where did they go? How to make them appear?! Questions only the smartest could answer.
My second question is...can you add another edge loop (for example) somewhere half the animation or the mesh should be the same from start to finish? I know you can transform the mesh...but can you make it more COMPLEX in the process? For example...making a cube...to turn into a perfect sphere. The cube has 8 edges, but the sphere can have 800. So can you do that or all the vertex should be present at the start? Also...why the origin place of a object can not be it's first keyframe? I tried...it never happened. ONLY if I move it...then I can make this my 1st key frame. Anyway that doesn't matter much, it's just stupid.
Those are my two questions. I may sound irritated and that is true, cuz I'm too sick and tired of old, slow, buggy, expensive, stubborn software that REFUSES to reinvent itself for 20 years. It's nearly 2020 people...we need everything to reinvent itself cuz I feel like computers are still kinda stuck in the 90s. Cuz...Maya looks the same just darker and with simpler buttons. I think all old software should be written and designed again from the ground up. But this subject is not for here so yeah, anyway.

Ohhhh I get it now! Something that nobody mentioned in ANY video I watched is that...every vertex, edge, face and object can have their OWN key frames and to see them you have to select those specific things. This is so...strange and unusual.
I still don't get WHY you can't simply CLICK on a keyframe to select it, but oh well.
