Joint Controllers not moving with mesh

After setting up joint skeleton as seen in picture 1. Orienting joints to face the proper way as seen in picture 2.. Implementing IK handles for legs, arms and spine. I decided to add controllers in the form of nurb circles with frozen transformations.

I then selected the controller eg. Right foot control as seen in picture 3. Then selected rightleg IK and did point constrain. Then selected controller again and this time selected rightleg middle joint and did constrain orient.

But for some reason my controllers wont move with the model at all, as seen in pictures 4, 5, 6. Which proved to be irritating but when I tried with knee controllers with pole vector to the IK leg then the mesh started messing up completely after moving due to the controllers being moved too far away from the mesh as seen in picture 6 where the leg starts bending backwards and messes up.

Anyone got any solution as to why my controllers won't move properly with the model? I've scoured google and youtube for hours trying to find a solution without luck 😞

Hi

You cannot orient the control  with middle joint ( Knee).

Orient with Ankle bone.

Then Try

That did the trick with the knee joints, thank you so much! 😄

When I tried this method with the arm controllers shown behind the character (Orient to primary hand joint, biggest one of the white joints shown in picture 7 instead of elbow joint) I got an issue with the arm bending from the side primarily instead of bending forward. Also for some reason the hand does not rotate automatically with the arm, resulting in me having to manually rotate the arm doing every pose. Any way to get around this? 🙂

PS: I've attached my file to make it easier 😉

Can't seem to attach it to my post. Every time I do & select Post, it just reloads the page and removes my attachment. So here's a link to it via google drive...Now that is an annoying feature/bug

That Google drive link doesn't work for me. In order to attach a Maya file you have to zip it first and then it will let you attach it to the post.

Can you be more specific as to what the issue is?

I tried opening the file you gave and it seems everything has been converted the squares & the model is gone?

I am a bit confused. Can you get me up to speed? 🙂

Ah I see. But what exactly did you do? Change how my joints were oriented & pole vectors or?

Still seems to have the same problem with the hand not rotating properly & the controllers moving incorrectly?
