THAT! ^^^^ Window > Animation editors > Shape editor. (I'm using the steam version of Maya LT)
I don't know how long this has been a Maya feature but it literally just brought tears to my eyes. My job just got so much easier. It used to be such a hassle to get newly renamed or re-ordered blend shapes.
The menu is highlighted in the animation window dropdown so I think it's new to 2017's version. I'm happy ^.^
