Help? Following tutorial from 2011 and trying to rotate a node.

I added 3 curves to my hypershade and trying to attach one of them to a +/- average, in the tutorial the instructor right clicks the curve in the work area and accesses rotate and then rotateY. Any help I'm using maya 2017 and it doesn't have this.

You should probably find some newer tutorials as there have been significant changes in Maya in the six years between 2011 and 2017.

 

For this particular function the newer equivalent is to click on the three horizontal bars in the upper right of the node to expose the list of attributes and then simply drag from the output attribute's dot to the dot on the input to which you wish to connect.
