I had the same issue... I'm VERY new at Maya so this is probably not the correct solution, but to fix it, I had to re-correct my guides and refrain from deleting the extra guide that appeared at the bottom of my model (I just moved it to a place where I already had a hip guide so it hopefully wouldn't interfere much.)
Anyone else manage to solve this issue in a slightly less guess-and-check way?
