Exporting lattice deformer animation to alembic

Hello there,

I am trying to get the animated deformation of an object into an alembic cache. I used cluster handles to move the lattice points around. When I export though, I get the following warnings:

// Warning: |cluster10Handle|cluster10HandleShape is an unsupported type of kCluster //
// Warning: |cluster3Handle|cluster3HandleShape is an unsupported type of kCluster //
// Warning: |cluster4Handle|cluster4HandleShape is an unsupported type of kCluster //
// Warning: |cluster5Handle|cluster5HandleShape is an unsupported type of kCluster //
// Warning: |cluster6Handle|cluster6HandleShape is an unsupported type of kCluster //
// Warning: |cluster7Handle|cluster7HandleShape is an unsupported type of kCluster //
// Warning: |cluster8Handle|cluster8HandleShape is an unsupported type of kCluster //
// Warning: |cluster9Handle|cluster9HandleShape is an unsupported type of kCluster //
// Warning: |ffd2Base|ffd2BaseShape is an unsupported type of kBaseLattice //
// Warning: |ffd2Lattice|ffd2LatticeShape is an unsupported type of kLattice //

I tried to look up what the message means but couldn't find any information in the vastness of the internet.

The goal is to get the stuff playing in keyshot.

Now I turn myself to you in the hope to find a solution.

Cheers

Okay, I found the solution myself.

I selected the MESHES that I deformed (The lattice was actually applied to a transform node) and then baked out the keys with the option "Control Points" and "Shapes" ticked.

I then exported a .abc file of the selected objects with default options.

When you import the .abc file from maya to Keyshot, the import dialogue gives you an option to import deformed meshes. I had some struggles in the past with exporting and importing animations so I guess I thought too complicated!

The warnings still popped up but apparently didn't made a difference.

Well here's the solution in case anyone else wonders.
