Hello, I am an animation student and they have sent us to do a job with Ray's 3d model. My problem is that when I make the reference, the error window appears and says

 

 I don't know what the error is and if I ignore the message when performing the key poses to animate this Maya stops working and I have to forcefully close the software.

Please Help and thanks!

Ignore it. Its age old mental ray stuff.
Mental ray was the render engine in Maya but is no longer used.
