Error: "...node(s) is/are not part of the BindPose definition."

Issue:

- I'm receiving the error "The following parent and/or ancestor node(s) is/are not part of the BindPose definition" when importing my fbx.

In an attempt to fix this, I've tried:

- detaching the skin, deleting the history, and reattaching the skin  at frame 0

- deleting all BindPoses and the "dagPose -bp -save;" script

Any advice? Thanks! 🙂

How is this not answered after all this time? I have the same issue, and not a single answer in 4 years. Unbelievable.

I will surely switch to another software, as Autodesk's care for customer issues is ...zero?

If you have used bindskin with selected joints options then there might be some of the joints that you must have no t bound with skin meaning those are kind of null joints with no information. Try selecting those joints then the mesh and go to Skin>Edit Influences>Add Influence Options box> Turn on Lock weights>click on add check if those weights came or not using paintskinweight tool they might appear locked and have no influence on the mesh. Then delete all the bindpose, then select root>select>Hierarchy use dagPose -bp -s, might work or just try using the same script first just by selecting hierarchy.

Hope it works
