Creating a roll of tape

I'm at the very beginning of this tape roll and I'm already lost. What would be the best way to animation a roll of tape, with the top paper being peeled off?

 u can use maya Bend Deformer it's will give u a sufficient result..

first apply deformer then adjust the attribute of bend handle at the end rotate bend handle slidely..

Thank you so much for responding. I have attached a short video that may help explain where I am and where I need to be. The roll of tape is sticky on the underside, so when it unwinds, it should stick to the ground plane. I can get the direction correct, but having trouble figuring out how to simulate it correctly.

My only advice would be to think of ways that you could creatively fake what you're going for.  Such as already having the tape laid out and unmasking it somehow as the roll moves along.  Maybe you can animate the texture on the roll to give the illusion of the tape unrolling and moving, then deform the overall roll to make it look like it's getting smaller.  Try to think of things like that to make this easier and still give the effect you're looking for.  Good luck!
