bind skin error

I'm learning maya and got a problem with binding my char - getting "Bind-able objects must be selected." error evrytime I'm trying 2 bind him up
was trying selection with shift but it doesn't change anything >,<
could some1 pls help me out?

Hey @Anonymous

Are you trying to bind joints to an image?

Joints go with geometry and curves.. image planes wouldn't work, thats why the error pops up!
