Automated Lip Sync to audio file on Mac OSX

Hello.

I am very frustrated with the tedium of syncing my rigged charcter's mouth to voice over audio files.

Is there a way either built into Maya or in the form of a MAC OSX compatible plugin that would help automate this task.

EDIT: Also, I suppose there may also be a solution that runs on Mac or PC as a 3rd party tool that exports a MEL script or something that I'd import into Maya.

I am running:

Maya 2015

Macbook Pro OSX Yosemite

Thanks for any and all assistance.

Hi Fred,

I understand that manually keying the Lip Sync to a character is quite tedious.

Be sure to  animate the speech/visemes with the fcurve editor which is a lot faster an more precise than keying sliders once your are very good with the f-curve editor it should be quite a breeze.

Here's a tutorial I made on the process a while back with Softimage:

The only Voice detection feature that AD supports is the 'Voice driver' inside MotionBuilder.
However, Mobu is not supported on Mac Os.

I am not aware of any other alternatives since we don't test or support third party plugins.

I would probably look into finding something compatible on the web if such a plug-in exists.

Hi,

I know it's a bit arcane and antiquated but I'm using MotionBuilder on the Mac OSX. However it crashes after adding the voice device. I'm wondering if there anyone would happened to have experienced this problem and/or possibly suggest a solution. I did notice that the destination for the audio out doesn't allow me to select any hardware such as a speaker. I have Mobu in BootCamp on the same Mac and it works fine, recognizing some other output speaker.

I tried the "com" port devices in the Preferences and this nothing.

Thanks.
