Attach camera to path with its rotation

I am trying to make a walk-through with a model i made in maya and i want the camera to look down at an angle as it follows the path it is attached to with the following settings:

Follow - checked

Inverse front - checked

Whenever i rotate the camera and attach it to the motion path, it loses its rotation automatically. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?

Please help.

Because Maya by default makes the transform your attching to the path have it's translation and rotation match the path. Which is really what it should be doing by default. You can always just break the connections to the rotate channel in the channelbox. Or you can use an intermediary object. Attach a locator to the path instead of your camera. Then point constraint your camera to the locator.

A bit more detailed talk about this very subject in this thread here. Also with a video where I detail some examples on how to get the most out of a setup like this.
