Advanced Skeleton + Metahuman PROBLEM

Hi! I’m working on a personal project that involves Metahuman Creator and Maya’s plugin Advanced Skeleton 5. (I’m working on Maya 2022 by the way)

I’ve been following tutorials (A LOT) and when i reach to the part that I have to do the “NameMatcher” thing, 2 problems happen:

  • The handles are TOO SMALL. I have no idea how to resize them
  • The foot rig is wrong, it bends awful

I’m new to Maya. I hope someone can help me with this. Thank you for your time!

Hello I have same problem 

I ask devolop and this is suggestion that I following

-I select"Y up"in preference

-don't check in AdvanceSkeleton>preparation>rig>"z up axis"

-Try to following this picture suggestion : rotate manual "root_drv" and everything to "rotateX -90"

So I can solve this problem! Hope you too!

Hi! I spoke to the developer and he told me that too. I will add a more detailed guide in this reply so anyone with this problem can follow step by step:

 

1) Maya must be in “Y up” in settings.
2) Export your Metahuman from Bridge to Maya 2022
3) Check AGAIN your settings to be them in “Y up”, just in case
4) Select in the outliner “root_drv” and rotate it -90° in X axis

5) Now, in the outliner, go to Rig/head_grp (select headRig_grp) and rotate -90° in X axis

6) Now to go the “5” number in Advanced Skeleton menu

7) Go to Preparation/Rig and UNCHECK “Z up Axis”

8 ) Go to Tools/Name Matcher
9) Select Template “Metahuman”
10) Then press “Create+ Place FitSkeleton”, “Build AdvancedSkeleton”, “Constraint to Joints”

11) Go to Walk Designer, press “start” AND THAT’S IT! WOOOOHOOO!
