What another CAM developer is doing.

3D Undercut machining No more shadow issue.

Automatic clearance Something I have said all along.

Automatic slug removal Nice option for those that program just like the video. Why machine a pocket when a 2D contour does the same without the additional time.

4 + 1 Swarf machining this is what I have been asking for forever. Many CNC controls offer 4+1 machining as a standard, full 5 axis simultaneous is a 30K control option that a lot of shops don't need, until now I have not seen a CAM system allowing the programmer to lock one axis while using the other 4 for machining. Obviously this CAM development team is ahead of the curve on this one.

I'm not bashing ADSK development just providing some insight to ideas that are being implemented by others.

Greg

@lenny_1962

The Axis substitution in HSMWorks 3D Operations usually does the same thing as the 2D Wrap in Fusion.

FeatureCAM does exist still: http://www.autodesk.com/products/featurecam/features/new

Pretty sure @lenny_1962 is referring to Delcam for SolidWorks which is indeed gone.

Yeah but he wrote it like FeatureCAM and Delcam for Solidworks is gone.

So that's why I'm confused to what he meant.

I tried that and it gouges thru the blades, I used 3D Adaptive.

The 2D Wrapping probably would too. Because it's not 4-axis. It will cut at Y0 only so to speak. But could still help sometimes ofcourse.
