Turning an ID Groove Problem and rant

This problem has cropped up before, but I can't open that particular version of *.ipt file. http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/support/turning-inside-grooving-any-example/td-p/6077253

Anyway I keep getting this error: AxialRetractDistance > axialStockHigh

All my clearances are below the bottom of the current stock.

I thought I'd just get that programmed quick so I can go start making the part, but no. HSM apparently has other plans.  Frankly the turning package needs a lot of work IMHO.

I'm off to longhand some code...

not great but if you change clearance to reference the retract it seems to at least generate a tool path.  But maybe too much clearance and the back side of the tool may rub.

No need to rant, not going to get you any where. Smiley Sad

Thanks!  I'll take a look at it.

Hey, just for others looking into this issue, for me it was a simple fix, change your inner diameter to model I'd, my part was turned from solid so stock ID would be 0 hence the axial error.

Best regards

Mike
