Keeping Z on chamfer contour op?

Hey guys. I feel stupid posting this...but I can't figure it out.

I need my Z to follow the selected lines on a chamfer op (which it does) but I need it to also follow the same height as the blue lines when it hits the "arc" (un-selected portion) in the solid drawing. Basically to have the tool cruise right along like it wasn't even there.

I've got "propagate along Z" ticked...what am I missing here? See attached.

Thanks much!

Select the top of the chamfer. Otherwise you're going to have to create a sketch, or suppress the feature, generate your toolpath, protect it, then unsuppress. Propogate Along Z is a chaining option and has nothing to do with filling in missing edges.

Thanks. I think the lesser of the two evils is to do some suppression in my application. I'm not only doing a chamfer but it is also walking around a part for its contour by using that chamfer sketch. I thought about suppressing certain features before posting, but wanted to see if there was an easier solution. Thanks again.

Did you just mark your own reply as the solution after taking my advice?

Me too! But I was bored and was taking a stroll down amnesia lane...stumbled across this thread I started. I couldn't bare with the fact you seemed perturbed at for some reason, a mistake on my part.

So I thought I'd fluff your pillow a bit.  🙂 The least I could do.
