How to create special threads

Hi All...

Please advice, i will be creating special threads 5/16-24 Tpi. I can't find out the type of threads from library.
Please find attached picture sample tools that I used

Appreciate any kind help and support

Not quite sure I understand what you're looking for, but....the 5/16-24 thread is located in the ANSI Unified Thread category (at least it is on my installation of Inventor).

BTW, if you want to add any thread that is not available in the standards, just edit the Excel (.xls) files located in C:-user-Public-Documents-Autodeak-Inventor 20xx-Design Data-XLS-language folder.

Right it's an UNF(ASME B1.1) thread.
It's just straight no taper.

And you know that that tool isn't suited for the job right?

Just a side note but you done need to model the thread in order to cut it. All you need is the correct diameter hole.
