Help Cutting a part shape into soft jaws

I remember some place showing how to merge your part into a soft jaw so you can cut the jaws to the shape of your part.
Anyone know if there's a video on how to do this

Well I have access to SW and Fusion, but not Inventor. Does this help?

I used to build assemblies with the jaws and model them etc.   For simple parts I just sketch the top outline of the Jaws. Make sure its on a plane offset from the model so you can set how far the part is in the jaw.     In the Job setup Use Extruded sketch for stock.  Then 2d adaptive and a finishing contour off the model contours. Just reverse it so it cuts inside. Turning off toolpath occlusion with let you see the paths.  Simply set heights off stock and bottom of the actual part.  Depending on toolpath might have to reselect stoc contours.     You will need to hide the parts for a good stock simulation preview.    Much faster.    Hope that makes sense.  Im a solidworks guy and its been a long week.

One method you could use would be to assemble the part you will machine and your softjaws together. You can then start a new part and use the derive command. During the derive creation process you will be able to specify that you want to subtract the part from the softjaws. This method will keep your softjaws linked to the part you intend to machine as well. If that part changes, the derived operation will also update.
