Haas Netshare issues

This is a shout-out to all you Haas people.

I'm having an issue connecting my UMC via Netshare to a PC.

A bit of background. I was forced to reload Windows 10 Pro last weekend and I've been in the process of getting everything on the PC setup back to normal. For the life of me I can not get the control to pick up on my Shared folder via Netshare.

Prior to the OS re-build I had Netshare working on this PC.

I also have an alternate PC (mobile workstation) that the control is able to see the share. The point is I know how to set up a PC and the control for Netshare.

  1. Control: Pre-NGC
  2. Windows 10Pro on both PC's
  3. Network: basic Peer to peer, switches and router.
  4. I can ping the has control no problem and can see the Haas Hard drive from the PC's. so there is a connection between the two

I have eliminated the possibility that it could be the PC's firewall or antivirus by turning them off. Actually I have tried numerous things to with no success and I am starting to get tunnel vision with the problem. It almost seems like the controls network adapter needs to be reset because when I switch the settings on the control from the Mobile Workstation (the connection that works) to the Desktop Workstation (the connection that I am having issues with) the control seems to keep reading the Netshare connection to the Mobile Workstation.

For this reason I am reaching out to see if anyone has any suggestions or thoughts....any and all would be appreciated.

Well it happens to all of us. Where as we work through the issue, narrow it down and resolve the issue.

The solution, during the fresh install of Windows 10 Pro the service “SMB 1.0/CIFS Server” was not activated. As soon as I turned the service on the Netshare from the control established itself right away.

I hope this is helpful to someone else in the future.

Something else that I learned along the way and had to solve myself. For anyone else using Haas Netshare or the Hard Drive/Network Option and is experiencing connection issues. There is a virtual network adapter that is commonly installed on PC's that incorporate VPN connections. The adapter is called "Leaf Network Adapter". This adapter should be disabled on any PC that is connected to the Haas Control via the Ethernet. While communications may work at times....other times no so well....can result in some unexplained blue screen of death on the Haas control.

Just thought I would pass it along.

I am just now experiencing this issue and have discovered that Haas has recently fixed this issue in their latest software update (ver. 100.18.000.1020).  Links below suggest that you should not activate SMB1 protocol if you have any other solution.
