3D Pocket Inside - Outside

Hi,

how to control from outside or inside in 3D pocket?

Hi @kresh.bell,

Your question doesn't really make sense to me. 3D operations are working like this:

Select a contour and then this is your area, which you have defined in which you want to mill. You can also define whether the cutter is only allowed to stay within the area, whether the centre of the cutter is allowed to be on the line or whether it is allowed to be completely over the boundary up to the edge of the cutter. With each option you can also work with offset.

If you do not want to machine certain areas, you can also exclude them by clicking on a second contour (provided it is within the boundary of the first).

Hi,

it makes sense, and a big one at that. The problem is that 3D pocket works uncontrollably, sometimes from outside, sometimes from inside. When processing wood, damage in the last toolpath is inevitable if the processing works from inside to outside.

have you tried Scallop? I use it all the time for pockets and you can get it to start either from the outside or the inside.
