Is there anyway to machine a camshaft lobe profile on a 2 axis CNC lathe?
Lets say I have an encoder on the spindle and I am turning quite slow at say 8 RPM.
Would I be able to machine a lobe shape using a conventional turning tool via the X axis?
Same setup would I be able to machine the lobe shape with a live tool(grinding wheel) on the X axis?
