Multiple Issues with Lighting Analysis

Multiple Issues with Lighting Analysis

Hey fellow Insighters,

I've run into a number of issues with a large model:

(1) A lot of rooms were excluded from the lighting analysis [circled in yellow]

Level 1

Level 2

(2) Unable to open Lighting Room Schedule

When I try to open the Room Schedule, this error pops up:

(3) Number of analysis points

I understand that:

- High Quality Analysis = analysis point per 1 square foot

- Low Quality Analysis = analysis point per 6 square feet

The daylighting credit we're going for requires us to analyze the space per 3 square feet - is there any way we can customize the amount of analysis points when generating a new Lighting Analysis.

---

Please let me know if you have any solutions to any of these problems! It would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous,

1. Are all of your Rooms part of the main model? If you're using a linked model, make sure Rooms and Floors are part of the main model. Also, are these Rooms producing results in 3D view?

2. Can you try deleting the Room Schedule and then regenerate lighting analysis result? This will recreate the schedule.

3. Unfortunately you can't customize analysis grids at this point.

Hope these help,

Stephanie

Hi,

Iam working on a two floor building, and while running the day lighting analysis results are only being displayed for first floor neglecting the ground floor. and even while opting only for the ground floor, error msg. occurs stating - "your project has no rooms included in day lighting analysis. " the parameter for include in day lighting is checked" for all the rooms at ground floor. But still ground floor is not being accounted in the analysis. please get back soon.

Hi @Anonymous--

Are all rooms part of the main model? The error message you are receiving makes me believe that rooms aren't being recognized in your project.

When visualizing results, results will appear for any level that you included in the analysis in 3D views. However, know that 2D floor plans will only be created for levels that have rooms specified.

Thanx, found the solution. Reworked on the plan and it worked.
