Does anyone know where/how to get Visual Studio Express 2010?  I had it on my previous computer but i have been looking for over an hour now and all the resources i can find that explain how to download is are outdated.

Or if they have updated the Inventor API to work with a newer version please advise.

It says the download is no longer available.

Has anyone recently started using the Inventor API? If so, how did you go about it and what version of visual studio are you using?

Wow!  Just downloaded that version last week from that link...  sorry.  You should be able to use Visual Studio Community 2017 as long as you match the .net framework with the one your version of Inventor is using

this should help.  http://adndevblog.typepad.com/manufacturing/2015/02/which-net-framework-version-is-inventor-using.ht...

I'm personally using VS Express 2012 with Inventor 2017. The link below should be the best place to grab the iso for it. I believe there is a limit to the newest version of VS you can use with the Inventor SDK. I think VS 2013 is the newest that works with the 2017 SDK but it might be changed to VS 2015 for Inventor 2018.

There are a few threads around the forum talking about getting the Inventor SDK working on different versions of VS.

Thank you for the replies.  On the help website it says that ANY version of VS will work (see pic) and i have already started installing VS2017 so i am going to attempt that first, but your replies have been very helpful and i will let you know how it works out. Thanks again guys.

Just to clarify I'm referring to the fact that the inventor developertools.msi sdk installer has required older versions of VS to be installed for different versions of inventor.
