Unspecified error (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004005 (E_FAIL))

Evening all

I have the attached rule in my top level assembly that controls my model.

When I open the model and make a change to a parameter (Via a form or via the parameter table) the rule runs fine. If I then change that parameter or another one. I get the "Unspecified error (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004005 (E_FAIL))". If I close inventor and reopen the model it will work fine until another change.

Anyone help with why.

Inventor 2022 with update 2022.3 (was also doing this with 2022.2.2

Cheers

When you say change that parameter or another what is this parameter and how is it changed? It could be difficult to narrow down the issue without the whole file structure to test. What happens when you switch of the rule and make the changes manually? Can you place in messagebox around where you think the error is? And see if it gets that far. There is a lot of auto run parameters so the logic maybe be getting out of sync.  A couple of screenshots of error messages and set up would be helpfull.

The parameter could be any one and is changed via a form. Its not always the same parameter. When the error comes up it tells me what line in the rule is causing the issue. If I comment out that line the rule will run fine. but if I change another parameter the error will come up again for that new parameter that was changed.

Hmm sounds like the logic is off. Can you switch off complete blocks and isolate if statememts etc. and get them to run. It could be a sequencing/updating issue. Nothing is sticking out from what I can see.
