Hi @CGBenner & @JelteDeJong. I did take a short vacation a while back, but mostly my slow down in responding here on the forums was due to a couple new changes in the work place. The company I work for physically moved to a new (to us) facility across town, with a lot more production capacity, but slightly tighter office space. Things were tight and really busy for a while around that time. Then we introduced some new materials in the product/production process, which required new processes to handle/fabricate/assemble. Then we acquired a large, slightly used CNC machine to help automate some product fabrication, and I was the one responsible for a lot of the Production operators' training, establishing needed tooling specifications, and producing all of the CAD/CAM programming needed, due to my related degrees and many years of related experience. These new responsibilities were taking a lot more of my time at first, but the situation getting more under control as time goes on. The tooling needs have been established through some testing/trials, and some sources now established. The majority of the most popularly needed CNC programs have been created and fine tuned a couple of times, so a lot of that initial pressure is now alleviated too. There is still a lot to be done, but things are a bit more manageable now than they were then.
I do enjoy helping others out though when I can, and when time permits, and I have been blessed with occasional time to do so here on the forums. And it is a two way street too, because as I am helping others out and spending time hearing about the challenges they are facing, and their unique situations, and either observing or helping with solutions, I am constantly learning stuff myself, which I also very much enjoy. Learning not only through research, trial & error, while trying to help others with their challenges, but also learning from the solutions that others post for those challenges. And yes, I have picked up several useful tips from the solutions that @JelteDeJong has posted too, and am thankful for those. 🙂
