Here is a good one for all of you Autodesk boys. I would like to have a "spreadsheet" like looking nozzle schedule on a tab in my Configurator dialog box. This would, essentially, place a predesigned "nozzle template". Or, do you have an easier way to add nozzles to a tank? Any information about this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

Sorry but your request is not clear to me. This section of the forum is targetting API customization, we deal with programming topics. Could you clarify how we could help you in regards to your question? Are you looking for help on a specific area of the Inventor API?

Thanks to clarify a bit and sorry if I am missing the point.

Regards,

Philippe.

Hi Philippe

I have the same request as shawngerardy.
1, I need to add nozzles into assembly, for example, flanges or other pipe fittings should be remark as nozzles or parts of nozzles.
2, I want to create a nozzle schedule from the model.

I tried to add flanges or other pipe fittings into the tank model using Inventor API and create iProperties like nozzle, nozzle_ID, fitting_type, etc.

but I have no idea about how to create a nozzle schedule from the tank model.

cheers

Well, I guess at this point, I'm not sure if it requires API or not. I would like to have a dialoge box driven nozzle assembly that can be inserted into a tank assembly. Giving it the required: Size, schedule, external projection, internal projection, flange type (SORF, SOFF, Weldneck, etc.), flange class (150#, 300#, etc.), wether or not it has a rering and the sizes of the rering and so on. I hope this gives you a little more as to what I am looking for. It might act like the ETO tank configurator does.

Thanks.

I think the bigger question is what version of Inventor are you using. Where is the Tank Configurator dialog box coming from. There isn't any dialog like the Tank Configurator in Inventor Std, or Pro. (Not sure if there is in Inventor ETO or not.) It looks like a custom dialog. Is it part of an addin?

Ok, I think I'm mixing 2 different problems into one.

First of all, we are using Inventor 2015 Pro. The "Dialog Box" is a custom form. I have alot of back end ilogic in my part templates, that create part numbers, descriptions and figures paint, material usage, and price.

Here is my main goal:

I was thinking: Place iLogic Component. Select a "Std Nozzle Configuration" Assembly. This would copy the assembly and all sub components to the current assembly location. A "Nozzle Configuration" dialoge/form would pop up and you could configure all aspects of the nozzle, size, schedule, class etc.

In addition: Link "Nozzel 1" to the main dialoge/form so that by changing the options of nozzle 1, would update/change the "Nozzle 1" assembly.
