Quick Access to IAM's Iproperty edit screen through IDW

Hi,

I'm trying to get a quick link to the Iproperties menu of my (.iam) assembly file so I can edit the Part Number and Description.

Normally you access this by going field text > (linked) Iproperties box>

Ideally if I can do it via a form to bring this up, so its one click that would be perfect or a custom button on the taskbar!

I'm fairly new to this coding lark, I understand it a bit, but Its early days.

That would do very nicely if it can be done.

I am not to sure there is such a workflow as you describe. But there is other methods as described below.

Typically building a iproperties global form would be the first step. You can then use it in both the drawing, part and assembly environment. Once reopened in each environment you can then immediately access the iproperties. No immediate coding required as they are direct links to the built in properties.

Simple global form here.

This link will show you how to build rules to either import/update iproperties from the model also a manual button on the drawing tab or send iproperties from the drawing back to the model.

This link has a global form with both model and drawing synching buttons built in. I use this, works very well.

You could just right click on the assembly document's browser node (right under the view node), then select "iProperties..." from that right-click menu.  That will open that iProperties dialog for the assembly from the drawing.
