Hello everyone,
I'm currently working with an Inventor part file (.ipt) where I’ve used the BIM Content tools to assign a Pipe Connector. In Inventor, I carefully selected a circular face, ensured the connector was placed at the center of the hole, and matched the diameter accurately.
However, after exporting the part as a Revit Family (.rfa) using the "Export Building Component" feature, I noticed that the Pipe Connector in Revit appears misaligned — it is offset from the hole center.
What’s interesting is that this offset is not random. I’ve tested placing the connector at several different circular faces in different parts and orientations, and the resulting misalignment in Revit is consistently the same distance and direction. This suggests there may be an underlying rule or export behavior that causes this issue.
I’ve attached a screenshot and the related .ipt file to illustrate the problem more clearly.
Has anyone experienced this type of consistent connector misalignment before?
I would appreciate any advice or insights on:
What might be causing this behavior during the export process
How to properly constrain or reference the connector in Inventor to ensure correct alignment in Revit
