Hello,

i want to optimize the workflow of the design of an instrument. Therefore I want to aautomatically update area and distance information of my assembly and store these in a file to be read out with matlab. Is there an option to do so? I found some code examples for iProperties (https://inventorfaq.blogspot.com/2012/05/flache-einer-skizze-als-wert-in-den.html) , but I dont want to touch each surface/area after an update. I want the values to be updated automatically.

Thanks for any suggestions or workflow ideas:)

From what you've described so far, it sounds possible. To get closer to a solution, I'd encourage you to provide more detail about the problem, including examples, where is data coming from, and where is data going to? Are the "areas" coming off surfaces selected by the user, or automatically detected? The more information you can provide the better.
